Gelato Company to Expand as National Franchise

What would you do if you could have your favorite ice cream with all of the flavor but without all of the calories? There is a healthier version of America’s favorite indulgence, and it has finally made it here from Italy. San Gelato Cafe has been serving premium gelatos and sorbets with ingredients imported from Italy in the Florida panhandle for over ten years and is now ready to launch the company nationally as a franchise.

According to the National Dairy Foods Association, lower-fat products made up 28 percent of the $21 billion annual ice cream market in 2005. Since gelato is substantially lower in fat than ice cream, there is indeed a market to sustain San Gelato Cafe’s expansion plans.

San Gelato Cafe signed a contract with Medina Enterprises to expand the company nationally as a franchise, guaranteeing 300 open stores by 2011. It is not everyday that two companies out of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, sign a deal valued at over 100 million dollars. Medina Enterprises helps grow its customers as national franchises by taking over business operations, similar to how Yum! Brands or Focus Brands operate.

“Medina has committed to an aggressive growth plan with San Gelato that will result in over 300 open stores and over 400 signed franchise agreements in three years. This type of growth is sure to put San Gelato on the map as a major contender in the franchising and food and beverage industries,” said Medina Enterprises CEO, Robert Morgan (Morg). Currently, San Gelato has three open stores in the Florida panhandle, two corporate owned stores and one franchised store.

The first San Gelato Cafe opened in Fort Walton Beach in August of 1996. “We brought the gelato concept to Florida from Italy ten years ago. Since then we have developed the San Gelato concept into a proven system and we are ecstatic to see our dream for our gelato cafes come to life across America,” said Simona Faroni, co-founder of San Gelato Cafe.

With her husband Guido, Simona brought this cherished Italian tradition to the United States in hopes to share their love for Italian culture. “It was a challenge to introduce gelato to the United States because we had to educate the consumer on what gelato was,” said Faroni. Since then gelato has become increasing popular amongst the health conscious consumer as an alternative to ice cream. “While ice cream uses fat to get its flavor, gelato derives its flavor from the premium products and the high quality of ingredients used,” said Faroni.

“San Gelato has been flying under the radar as a tremendously profitable company for over ten years. The company has worked out any kinks and has the solid foundation to sustain rapid national growth,” said Morg. “This deal will bring Medina a minimum of 75 million dollars in royalty, franchising and construction revenues over the first five years of its contract.” The contract is for ten years, and both San Gelato and Medina executives hope to one day take the company public.

IMT CREDIT SERVICES examines each of our clients personal files held by three major credit-reporting agencies, Equifax (CSC Credit Services), TransUnion, and Experian, and then identifies all negative items contained within their credit files that are affecting rating and their purchase power. Next, our Research Division gathers information to ensure that all parties reporting adverse information to our clients credit commission and complied with all of the laws and statues set forth by the Federal Trade Commission and Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Once IMT CREDIT SERVICES has found reporting violations, we present our case on the clients behalf to the three credit reporting agencies and demand for a permanent deletion of account wrongly reported to the clients personal credit file. IMT CREDIT SERVICES also evaluates each clients financial portfolio and educates them how to obtain a better credit. We instill in every client the importance of creating a solid financial foundation, as well as, educate clients on how to utilize their credit as a tool, not as a mean.

How long will the consulting and repair process take?
All of our clients’ personal credit files, which are held by the three major credit reporting agencies, will reflect results within sixty days. However, the process in which IMT Credit Services utilizes to deliver our clients the results they require to achieve their financial goals is very involved and does take time. The total amount of time the consulting and repair process will take depends on the amount of work IMT Credit Services must perform. This pertains to how quickly we can get the necessary information from the parties reporting the negative items to the clients’ credit files, and how quickly the client forwards us the correspondence they receive pertaining to their consulting and repair process. It must be understood that each file is unique and the required amount of work it takes for a particular client to obtain their goals may be different than the amount of work it takes for the next client. Clients must also understand that we are working with creditors, collection companies, government agencies, and reporting agencies all over the country in effort to build a strong case and correlate disputes so that we can deliver the results that the client needs and expects from IMT Credit Services.

What if a deleted item reappears on my credit report?
If an item is reported again, it is a simple matter of challenging the item again and pressing for a permanent deletion at no additional cost to the client. However, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) makes it very difficult for credit reporting agencies to report negative items twice. The FCRA also requires that the credit reporting agencies inform you in writing before they report any previous items once they have been deleted.

What is the cost for acquiring the services of IMT Credit Services?
Our clients have the option of selecting two plans. The first plan called the Gold Standard Plan has an initial cost of ninety-nine dollars ($99.00) with a flexible customer agreement based payment of seventy-nine dollars ($79.00) per month for 11 months. The second plan called the Diamond Special Plan has a low initial cost of two hundred and seventy-nine dollars ($279.00) with a twenty-five dollar($25) per item deleted from their credit file.

Does paying off old debts repair my credit?
No. When a client pays or settles an old debt, the date of the last activity is updated to reflect the last payment made. This in most instances lowers the clients rating depending on the previous date of last activity. In addition, the unpaid debt will also be updated from an unpaid collection or charged off debt to a paid settled collection or charged off debt. Paid or unpaid, the listing is still negative and will continue to reflect that it was in collection or charged off status in the past. It must be understood that your credit file is a history of your credit life and will continue to show past negative activity. That is unless you work to restore your credit at the same time. This is what IMT Credit Services specializes in! We understand the importance of our clients’ credit rating and purchasing power. We realize that adverse information in their personal credit file does not necessarily reflect the character or credit worthiness of that individual.

Can a consumer repair his or her own credit?
Yes. Given the proper background and experience, one could do most of what our staff does. It is much like your right as a citizen to represent themselves in a court of law.
